Beach Sampling at Fourchon, Louisiana - 2014 Sign In or Register to add photos

These photos show some of the field work done in April, 2014, along the Caminada Headland beach near Fourchon, Louisiana, for the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program. We were surveying food resource potential for piping plovers that forage in the intertidal and wrack-line zones along the outer beach and also at inland bay areas behind Elmer's Island. In this year 2 of the survey, 10 beach stations and 3 bay-side stations were sampled; an increase from Year 1 in which only four beach stations were assessed.
